Overview of Our Forklift Training Courses
All our forklift certification training courses and practical on-truck training are operated through Safety 1st Fork Lift Training Inc. and are conducted on our clients’ premises.
Our eight-hour on-site forklift certification training courses can typically be completed within one day, depending on the class size and level of competency. Participants will learn valuable information related to the certification of lift truck operators on ITA Class I, II, III, IV & V Lift Trucks.
The forklift certification training courses are divided up into two parts.
Part 1: In-Class Training
Part one consists of an in-class lift truck safety course.
In this class, forklift operator will review Occupational Health & Safety Legislation and learn about the duties of the employer, supervisor, and worker. Participants will also learn about workplace safety hazards; propane safety; cylinder changing, handling, and storing procedures; and lift truck operating techniques and practices.
At the end of the course, participants will be required to complete a multiple-choice written exam.
Part 2: Practical Training
In part two of the on-site forklift certification training, participants will be evaluated in real-life operating situations as they use the material handling equipment within their job site.
Forklift operators will be tested on their safe load-handling procedures; their ability to pick up, deposit, and stack materials; the correct operation of hydraulic controls; and how well they follow safety and awareness regulations.
The equipment used in this part of testing must have a valid safety certificate.
Upon completion of both parts for the forklift certification training, participants will be issued a complete and comprehensive training report, operator certificates, and ID cards (valid for three years).
